As a technology-first company, we are committed to leveraging our expertise to deliver unparalleled precision and reliability in our solutions. We not only prioritize safety but also develop highly precise and sensitive AI solutions for video surveillance and security at large. We believe that through innovation and technology, we can provide our clients with the tools they need to protect what matters most and improve operations of their organizations.
At the core of Scylla team there are three main values
Discipline
Collaboration
Teamwork
Scylla ethics
Scylla is laser focused to use advanced AI powered video analytics to protect human life. With the power of AI comes the responsibility to use these capabilities wisely and ethically. Scylla has consciously made training, product design and marketing decisions that ensure that our AI is used in accordance with our mission and ethics.
Free of ethnic bias
Scylla’s commitment to human rights begins with the data sets used to train our models.
Issue: There have been reports of some face recognition models not working well with people of color and women due to imbalanced data sets used for training. These are trained on images of white males.
Scylla’s response: Scylla has deliberately built balanced datasets in order to eliminate bias in face recognition.
Protects privacy
Privacy is a fundamental human right. When information is gathered, it needs to be used, stored and managed in line with legal requirements.
Issue: Personal data can be collected and stored indefinitely, or made available for purposes other than what it was gathered for.
Scylla’s response: Scylla does not store any data that can be considered personal. No footage or images are stored. In jurisdictions where face recognition is not permitted for privacy reasons, Scylla’s person search can be used to search for someone based on their general appearance.
No ethnic identification
Issue: Some AI video analytics solutions can be used to identify and track certain persecuted ethnic groups.
Scylla’s response: Scylla software cannot be used to identify any ethnic or racial groups.
Sold for ethical use
Issue: Without proper safeguards, software can be sold to parties that use it for human rights breaches, such as mass surveillance of society.
Scylla’s response: Scylla will not sell software to any party that is involved in human rights breaches. Scylla undertakes due diligence on the ultimate use of all of our software.
At Scylla, we understand the value of human life and strictly follow our ideology in our global operations. We are building the technology to help save and protect innocent lives from such high-impact threats as terrorist attacks, asymmetric warfare and active shooter situations.
Not taking sides. And not deciding who deserves to live.
